Is Continuing Education (CE) Credit available?
Podcasts are a new format for continuing education. We realize that CE credit is important to laboratory scientists. We are working with our CE providers and hope to be able to offer CE credit for future programs. In the meantime, we will provide a certificate of attendance for those who complete all the requirements of a series.
Who can participate on a single subscription?
All individuals from your laboratory location may participate under a single subscription. Laboratories at another physical location, even though they may be a part of your parent organization are considered a separate laboratory. You may not share the link or the electronic files with anyone who is not employed in your laboratory without violating the copywrite provisions. All podcast series are copywrite protected by the APHL as the parent company of the NLTN and all rights are reserved.
How can I obtain a certificate of attendance for "Introductory Podcast and Virtual Unknown: CA-MRSA"?
To qualify for a certificate of attendance, you must do the following: listen to the podcast, complete the virtual unknown, listen to the virtual unknown follow-up podcast, and then complete an online evaluation form. The evaluation will be available when the follow-up podcast is posted (after March 5, 2007). At the end of the online evaluation, you will need to provide your name and email address, and a PDF copy of the certificate of attendance will be emailed to you.
How will I know when something new is posted?
When you are enrolled for a series you will recieve an email notifying you when a new podcast or associated component is posted. You may then access the posted component at your convenience.
Can I still enroll even though a series is already in progress?
Yes, as long as a series is still active and listed on the website you may enroll.
What is the Virtual Unknown?
The Virtual Unknown is an online exercise. It will display a bacteriology report and ask several antimicrobial susceptibility testing and reporting questions related to the content covered in the podcast. Simply click and answer the questions as if this were a report from your laboratory.
Do I have to identify myself to participate in the Virtual Unknown?
No, all information will be collected anonymously. We do ask a few questions that help us to know about our audience: your state (or country if outside US), type of facility you work in, number of antimicrobial susceptibility tests performed in your laboratory. We do NOT ask for your name or email address or any identifying information.
How can I remember my responses to the Virtual Unknown questions?
If you would like to keep a record of your responses, you will need to print each page before you click “next” at the bottom of the page.
